Newland Hall, Roxwell near Chelmsford in Essex is a new wedding venue for me, but what an ideal place for a wedding it is, even on a typically dank 5th November.
Joanna and Neil, the happy couple, are good friends with my daughter Leanne, in fact Leanne went to school with Jo and they have remained good friends ever since. My lovely three year old granddaughter Amelia was a flower girl and along with the beautiful bridesmaids did a great job looking after Jo on her very special day.
The day started off at Jo’s parents house in South Woodham Ferrers where, as is quite normal for a wedding, what appeared to be a bomb had gone off with make up artists and hair dressers equipment everywhere and people in various form of undress were quietly going about their preparations. Despite all the chaos Jo was ready on time and looking marvellous in her gorgeous wedding dress. After taking all the usual photographs of the bride, bridesmaids and parents etc, I moved on to the venue for some photographs of Neil, the best man and ushers.
Despite the weather forecast for rain that day the rain held off and we were blessed with just heavily overcast skies. In between the ceremony and wedding breakfast there was plenty of time for the usual group shots and the more personal portraits I like to do with my couples. After the wedding breakfast we had time for some more photographs lit with my portable tungsten lamp ably held by my new found assistant and daughter Leanne.
The staff at Newland Hall are obviously very experienced and know how to make these occasions run smoothly and as I was treated to a lovely four course meal I can vouch that the food is also very good!
Below is a selection of my favourite photos from this lovely wedding.
