Jenny and Grant’s lovely Gosfield Hall Wedding
Gosfield Hall Wedding Venue in Essex is a superb location for a wedding and one of my favourite’s for wedding photography. Last November on a rather wet and blustery day I photographed the wedding of Jenny and Grant there. It is always nice to photograph weddings that are all in one location, as this was. Weddings are stressful enough without have to worry about finding your way to several different addresses or dealing with traffic.
One of the things I love about being a photographer and photographing weddings is that you get to meet lots of nice people. Jenny and Grant’s family and friends are some of the nicest people I have had the privilege of meeting. It was also nice to see and work again with my friend James Garrett from HNE Media who filmed the couple’s wedding day.
The great thing about Gosfield Hall is all the fantastic rooms and interior space, which with the weather that day being as bad as it was came in very handy. Also, the staff there are second to none when it comes to looking after everyone and making sure everything runs smoothly.
As can be seen from the photographs I like to capture the emotion of a wedding day and create a story of everything that happens. It was great to see all the girls, and boys for that matter, having so much fun as they prepared for the big day and hopefully that can be seen in the photographs.
The couple were married in the Queen’s Gallery with its 120 foot aisle it’s a stunning place to be married. After the wedding ceremony I just managed to get a large photograph of the whole wedding party before the heavens opened and we had to quickly retreat inside. Fortunately, the rain did stop and the sun came out briefly giving me enough time to take Jenny and Grant outside for some photographs of them alone. Gosfield Hall has some beautiful exterior backdrops for wedding photography. However, it can be tricky when the wind is blowing as hard as it was that day, especially with a veil as long as Jenny’s was.
Whilst everyone enjoyed a lovely wedding breakfast James and I were also fed a superb three course meal. The food at Gosfiled Hall is especially nice and always something I look forward to when I go there. Duly fed and watered James and I headed up to the dining room for the speeches. I am guessing the dining room was filled to capacity because it was a little tight for James and me to squeeze in all our gear.
With the speeches completed it was time for everyone to move down stairs for the cake cutting and first dance. Around 9pm the guests were treated to a firework display and as it was so cold that evening nice warm blankets were supplied along with hot chocolate for those that wanted it. I eventually left around 10pm after photographing some more fun and dancing on the dance floor.
This was a really fun wedding for a lovely couple at a fantastic wedding venue. I have added lots of pictures from the day below and if you have a password you can view them all by going to my main website here.
