The Punch Bowl at High Easter near Chelmsford in Essex is a fantastic venue for a wedding reception, especially if you plan to get married at High Easter Church, as it is directly adjacent to the Church grounds. This was the perfect location for Gemma and Nigel who’s wedding I photographed last Saturday. The day began at Down Hall Hotel where Gemma prepared for her big day along with bridesmaid Sarah. As can be seen from the photographs Gemma is a beautiful girl with a truly vivacious character who looked simply stunning in her wedding dress, and it came as no surprise that one of the photographs she especially wanted was one of her on her horse. I photograph lots of weddings and for my sins, lots of equestrian events, but this was the first time I had put the two together. Gemma’s horse, June, behaved impeccably throughout the ordeal of having lots of cameras and excited guests clambering to get a picture of the two; such a star!
The Warren Golf Club, Woodham Walter, near Maldon in Essex is a new wedding venue for me, but what a truly delightful place it is, full of character and old English splendor. I was there on this occasion to photograph the wedding of Joyce and Dave who a lovely couple who, as can be seen by some of the pictures, are madly in love! My daughter Candice, who often photographs weddings with me, will do doubt take the p*** out of me when she reads that this wedding brought a tear to my eye. The emotion shown during the ceremony was truly overwhelming with even Dave shedding a little tear hear and there as the couple repeated there vows to each other. It is so nice to be a part of such occasions and reminds me of why I like wedding photography so much and I really hope this come across in my pictures. Anyway enough of the emotional stuff here are a few picture of the happy couple on their wedding day:
This week I photographed the wedding of Bekki and Danny at Colchester Town Hall and the Marks Tey Hotel. This was a small family wedding, but along with a few friends proved to be a very nice occasion. The day started and finished at the Marks Tey Hotel, which is an excellent wedding venue with some lovely rooms and function suits along with a few nice spots for wedding photography, some of which can be seen amongst the photographs posted below. The couple had asked me to take a few shots of them at Colchester Castle, something I had done before on a previous wedding. The castle grounds are very well maintained with some beautiful spots well suited to wedding photography and along with the castle it self proved to be a great backdrop. As usual if you have the password you can view all the photos by going to the ‘Client Area’ on my web site, but here are a few of my favourites:
Leez Priory has got to be one of the most prestigious Wedding Venues in Essex, and indeed in recent years has been voted Wedding Ideas Magazine ‘Best Wedding Venue’. With that in mind I always enjoy photographing weddings at this fantastic location because no matter how many times I go there I nearly always seem to find a different angle or spot for a fantastic picture.
Recently I photographed the Wedding of Alison and Craig at the Best Western, Ivy Hill Hotel, Margaretting, Essex which is not far from Chelmsford. This was the first time that I had photographed at this popular Essex Wedding Venue, which is kind of strange as I have exhibited at several Wedding Fayre’s there. The day started of fine and bright but by early afternoon had began to cloud over, but fortunately just before the rain came I managed to complete all the group shots. As the guests sat down for the wedding breakfast the rain began to fall but had fizzled out by the time the meal was over and we were ready for some more photography.
