In August of this year I photographed the wedding of Nina and Nick at Layer Marner Tower, the third of three weddings I have photographed there this year. Layer Marney Tower is a fantastic Essex Wedding Venue and Nina and Nick are a lovely couple, add to that the fact that we were treated to some beautiful weather meant this was a truly superb wedding.
On this occasion I was assisted by my second photographer and assistant Claire who captured most of the shots of Nina and her bridesmaids as they prepared for the big day at the Crowne Plaza Hotel near Tiptree in Essex. Claire also captured nearly all the candid/documentary still images for the couple. I left Claire at the Hotel and went off early to Layer Marney in search of Nick, his best men and the ushers to take photographs of them as they nervously waited for the bride to arrive. This also gave me a good opportunity to photograph some of the guest as they arrived and mingled with each other in the lovely gardens at Layer Marney.
Toastmasters are an invaluable asset at weddings and on this occasion I was joined by one of the best in the business Richard Palmer who helped Claire and myself throughout the day, most notably during the formal group photographs as he gathered all the various groups together. Richard also looked after the couple and all their needs making sure they wanted for nothing and new exactly what was going on at all times, so if you are at all thinking about hiring a toastmaster I can highly recommend Richard.
The weather that day was perfect, very warm and sunny, with just a few puffy clouds in the sky, but if anything a little too warm for all the invited guest seated in the Corsellis Room for the ceremony. However, despite the warm conditions the ceremony was a beautiful occasion with lots of love and emotion, just how a wedding ceremony should be. The staff and caterers are excellent at this venue and make the day run very smoothly without any stress, which is essential at a wedding.
As can be seen from the photographs Layer Marney Tower is a wonderful Essex Wedding Venue steeped in history and featuring some very interesting Tudor architecture and stunning gardens, so we were very much spoilt for choice on which backdrop to use.
