Hedingham Castle has got to be one of the most prestigious wedding venues as a photographer I could hope to visit. So you can imagine how excited I was when I was commissioned to photograph the wedding of Katherine and Ian at this fantastic Essex Wedding Venue which is so steeped in history. This was my first wedding photography job there and what a marvellous wedding it was, with a beautiful bride and handsome groom set against the grandeur of the buildings and gardens that go to make up Hedingham Castle. Kat (as she prefers to be known) and Ian were joined by their family and friends to witness their marriage in the castle Banqueting Hall where, after the ceremony we photographed the couple in the Minstrels Gallery above. From there it was on to the Mansion House via the Tudor Bridge from which we captured some confetti throwing photos. The Mansion House overlooks some superb gardens and a large lake making it an ideal place for wedding photography. I could not finish without mentioning the staff at Hedingham Castle who are second to none; they run a very tight ship and treat their guests to some excellent hospitality more suited to a five star hotel.
To back up my enthusiasm for this place here are a few of my favourite pictures from Kat and Ian’s big day:
