Layer Marney Tower Weddings seem to be very popular for me this year as it’s the second time I have been there in the past few months. This time it was the Essex Wedding Venue of choice for Victoria and Chris. Victoria and Chris are quite used to me photographing them as we met up a few months ago for a pre-wedding photo shoot. However, before the wedding reception Victoria and Chris were married at St Mary’s Church, Woodham Ferrers which is a beautiful old English church not too far from where Victoria’s parents live in South Woodham Ferrers.
Victoria and her bridesmaids prepared for the wedding at Victoria’s parents home and my assistant Claire and I were on hand to capture the proceedings and take photos of the wedding dress, shoes, jewelry and flowers etc. A special mention must go to Victoria’s mum who along with her friend had arranged all the flowers for the wedding day, which were simply magnificent. I also saw her make up Victoria’s lovely bouquet; I have never seen so many beautiful flowers at a wedding before.
We were quite limited as to what we could and could not be photograph at the church so most of the wedding photography took place at Layer Marney, including all the formal/group photographs. Luckily although the weather was quite cool, dull and overcast the rain held off for most of the day so we managed to capture most of what the couple had requested. There was a surprise in store for the guests in the evening as Victoria and Chris had arranged for a firework display to take place in the grounds of Layer Marney Tower. This was quite spectacular show and lasted for several minutes during which I managed to capture a few photographs of the light display.
It is always a fantastic privilege and honor to photograph a wedding and this was a superb occasion for a great couple at a wonderful location; as a wedding photographer I could not have asked for more. Below are just a few of my favourite photographs from the day:
