The White Hart, Great Yeldham
Last summer, which seems like a long while ago now, I photographed the wedding reception of Ali and Jon at The White Hart, Great Yeldham. Ali and Jon were married at St Peter’s Church, Black Notley which was packed to the rafters with all their family and friends. The service was a lovely just as a service should be for such a couple so obviously in love.
My day started at Ali and Jon’s home, also in Black Notley, where I captured a few pictures of bridal preparations, complete with nervous fun. I then moved onto the church where I met up with Jon and the boys for a few nervous shots of them before the wedding. After the wedding service we all set off for the White Hart in Great Yeldham where I captured a few pictures of Ali and Jon with their lovely wedding car. The weather that day was a little overcast but pleasantly warm, which helped a little with the pictures as we didn’t get anyone squinting in bright sunlight.
Most people that chose me to photograph their weddings also like a few formal family group photographs and this was the case with ali and Jon. After the formals it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches, but before that I also got to sample the superb food at The White Hart. The speeches are always a fun time and as can be seen from the pictures this was certainly true for this wedding.
After the speeches I took the couple for a short stroll around the excellent gardens and grounds to get a few more pictures of them alone. This was a fun wedding to photograph for a great couple and it was a true privilege to meet all their lovely family and friends. I always try and capture a picture of the emotion of when a Dad see his daughter for the first time in her wedding dress and I think I just about nailed this one, especially with mum looking on too.
