Recently I photographed the wedding of Lucy and Tom at The Reid Rooms, Margaret Roding, Essex. I know Lucy and Tom through my stepson Joe who was once part of a band called Dead Tracks for which Tom played the drums. Anyway, I digress, this was the first time for me at The Reid Rooms and what a delightful Essex wedding venue it is. Set in the heart of the Essex countryside it offers some beautiful backdrops just perfect for a wedding.
Lucy and Tom both prepared for the big day at The Marks Hall Farm House which is part of the estate on which The Reid Rooms, a collection of converted stables and farm buildings, is situated. The wedding ceremony took place in The Meadow Pavilion about a mile from the reception in a field beside a river overlooking some lovely Essex countryside. The bridal party and all the guests were driven there on converted farm trailers, which looked really fun! As can be seen from the pictures in the slideshow below the weather that day was just perfect making for a truly delightful and poignant wedding ceremony.
With the couple duly married it was time to head back to the reception on the tractors and get a few group photographs of all the family and friends. Before long it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches. The speeches, some of the funniest and best I have ever heard, took place before the meal which, on the occasion, was a superb barbeque.
After the wedding breakfast I took the couple for a walk around the extensive gardens and land at The Reid Rooms, which is vast, for some pictures of them alone. Then it was back to the reception room for the cake cutting and first dance.
This was my first time at this The Reid Rooms but I certainly hope I get to go back there soon as it’s a fantastic Essex Wedding Venue with friendly and helpful staff in a beautiful setting. Below is a slideshow of some of the images from the day set to music so if you are viewing this at work you may want to turn the sound down on your computer.
