Marygreen Manor Wedding
Not so long ago I photographed the wedding of Katie and Matt at the Marygreen Manor Hotel in Brentwood, Essex. Katie and Matt are good friends with my stepson Joe, who acted as one of their ushers on the wedding day. This was, without doubt, one of the best weddings I have ever had the privilege to photograph. The atmosphere that day was so full of love and fun, it just makes me smile looking back at the images.
As usual for me the day started off at the bride’s parent’s house where Katie and her bridesmaids were having a great time laughing and joking as they prepared for the big day. I think you can see from the photographs just how happy they all were.
From there it was onto the hotel just a short distance away, where the boys were in equally good form. Marygreen Manor Hotel is a lovely venue for a wedding, steeped in history dating back to the 13th century it is full of character.
Katie arrived on time with her Dad in a white Rolls Royce. Then with Matt and all the guests in position Katie made her big entrance to the delight of everyone there; she looked radiant! The ceremony was a simple affair with some of Katie and Matt’s friends contributing with some lovely poetry readings.
After the wedding ceremony the guests were treated to drinks and canapés in the intimate but beautiful garden at the rear of the hotel. I then set about taking all the formal photographs with family and friends along with a few nice moments with Katie and Matt on their own. Then before long it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches. During the wedding breakfast I was treated to a lovely lunch in the lounge area, which was really nice. As is often the case the speeches were really fun, loving and poignant. With everyone suitably fed and watered the night drew close and it was time for the cake cutting and first dance.
I often mention in these posts how lucky I am to be doing the job I do, and this wedding really confirmed my good fortune.
