Ivy Hill Hotel Weddings are very popular and last October I photographed the wedding of Sam and Steven at this excellent Essex Wedding Venue. With lots of nice backdrops for wedding photographs the Ivy Hill Hotel, Margaretting near Chelmsford is one of my favourite venues for weddings.
As usual my day started off at the brides home not too far from the wedding venue in Chelmsford. As can be seen from the photos Sam and her bridesmaids looked simply beautiful making for some lovely pictures. Unfortunately the weather that day was a little wet and overcast, but that by no means dampened the spirits of everyone involved.
I left early for the Ivy Hill Hotel to get some photographs of Steven and his Dad, who on this occasion was also acting as his best Man. There is plenty of room within the hotel should the weather be bad for all the wedding guests to sit down and enjoy a drink or two.
Before long Sam arrived in a lovely silver Bentley Wedding Car and I captured a few photographs of her with parents and bridesmaids before the ceremony. With all the guests seated it was time for the wedding ceremony which, was fun and emotional for a couple so very obviously in love.
Luckily not long after the wedding ceremony the weather brightened up in time for some formal photographs of the wedding party on the steps leading up to the Margaretting Suite. With the formal photographs complete I took the happy couple off for some photos of them alone in the beautiful landscaped gardens. We could not do an awful lot because of the wet grass, but Sam and Steven were still up for a little fun with the photos, especially when trying to get Sam’s veil to look like it was blowing in the wind.
During the wedding breakfast Sam and Steven very kindly paid for a meal for me and I can happily report that the food at the Ivy Hill hotel is very nice indeed! Then after the wedding breakfast it was time for me to photograph the speeches, which on this occasion were very good indeed. Last but not least I photographed the cake cutting and first dance.
This was a lovely wedding for a lovely couple and I wish them every happiness for the future. If you have a password you can view all the photographs here, but if not, here are a few of my favourites from the day:
